Here is "Bipe4", a half-scale version of my Bipe, at 3.9" (10cm) wingspan and 2.4 grams.

First flight was ROG in the hallway of my house, 6 feet airborne, terminated by the dining table at an altitude of 2 feet. After a few more false starts, I acheived an ROKC (Rise Off Kitchen Counter) into the family room and completed 4 or 5 circuits of the room, about 25ft x 25ft. Then I attempted a figure 8 that was looking good until it met the refrigerator at an altitude of 6 feet. No damage - carbon fiber and food wrap are really strong. This morning was sunny and calm so I flew it on the patio - flies just like its big brother.

I first flew this with Nick Leichty's spectacular 27MHz Micro 3 Channel combo receiver - 3 fully proportional channels with motor FET on board, at 180 mg - that's 0.18 grams total weight! Since then I have switched it to a Leichty Mini that I made from parts from DigiKey based on instructions from Nick, with my YAPP code PIC chip - about 0.38 grams. It now flies virtually glitch free - I can turn the transmitter off in flight and it lands itself.

I was surprised to find that Bipe4 will fly 10 minutes continuously from ROG to touch down on a fresh charge - timed and witnessed by two people independently.
